Welcome to First Grade!

August 16, 2007
My name is Mrs. Cobb, and I have been teaching (mostly first graders, second graders, and kindergartners) for more than 20 years. I still get excited about the beginning of a new school year and a new group of first graders. It is so much fun to work with children who are easily excited and eager to learn.
We will begin the year by quickly reviewing the letters and letter sounds. Then we can put the letters together to spell and read words. From there we will read sentences, and stories and books! We can read and write about apples, pumpkins, butterflies, insects, bats, owls, oceans, planets - and that is only the beginning!
