The kids are doing a great job moving up the rocket for Rocket Math. They are all working hard to get to Z so they can earn a special prize.
We will continue our study of word problems. We are currently working on "end + lose = start" problems.
We are working on our Morning and Homework Maths and they are leading us in our discussion of time and money. Everyday, we work on learning the value of each coin. We are also looking at regrouping with addition and subtraction. Ask your child about how we "go fishing". We have just started multiplying as well.
We have started our new skip counting curriculum. In this curriculum, we are learning songs to help us skip count. This skill will be used when we start multiplying later in the year. Ask your child to sing a skip counting song for you. They love it!
