Raider Night at the Junior High

By Krystal, 8th Grade Computer Class Student

May 02, 2008

On April 18, 2008, the Student Council hosted a Raider Night at the Junior High. The whole week leading up to Raider Night was a Spirit Week. So, Raider Night was like the ending of a fun week at school. It was a relief from all the stress at school. For example, after the ISATS, it seemed like all the kids were just ready for some fun. It all was accomplished, thanks to Mrs. Phipps-Arnett with the help of the Student Council. So, that’s a big thank you to them.

There were games that took place. The longest part of the night was the Dodge Ball Tournament. There were people that would lose on one team and then go back into the tournament with another team. So, it seemed like it took longer than it should have. The winners of the Dodge Ball Tournament were Jacob Rogers, Dylan Juergens, Kenzie Krause, and Tanya Ifft. The prize was 40 dollars. So, they each received 10 dollars.

Another game that was played for prize money was Knock-Out. The winner of that was Troy Burns. He did very well. It started with a lot of people and only one winner came out of it. Troy won 30 dollars. I guess his basketball skills paid off.

The other activity that went on was Ping Pong in the hallways.

There was no competition for that really because people just went and played as the pleased. Also, there was food and refreshments in the cafeteria along with board games. There were people in the computer room playing games or working on their computer projects also. Raider Night was a huge success.
