CONGRATULATIONS to two Tri-Point 6th graders who placed 1st in the Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation Limerick Contest
The limerick contest was open to all 6th grade students in Livingston County. Limericks are five line rhymes that follow the rules of a proper limerick. Limericks were evaluated on creativity, rhyme, neatness and the conservation message. The top two limericks from the 2008 contest are as follows:
1st Place Limerick
We all use water each day,
For drinking, washing and play.
Now the water is gone,
Because we took too long
To see conservation's the way.
By Austin
2nd Place Limerick
There once was a boy named Kyle,
Who had a "go green" kind of style.
All the kids would make fun,
But he was the one.
Who changed the earth for awhile.
