The 7th Grade Field Trip

The entire 7th grade took a field trip on April 30, 2008 to the Wildlife Prairie State Park by Peoria. We arrived around ten o’clock. After we got off the bus each group went off through the trails. You could go to the Bird Sanctuary or up Butterfly Trail. You could see the black bears, bobcats, lynx, foxes, wolfs, coyotes, elk, bison, and many other animals native to Illinois.
When we were finished trail walking we ate our sack lunches. After we ate we went to an Adaptation Program. A naturalist from the park talked to us about how some animals adapt to their environment and how each adapts differently. She showed us some different types of animals such as birds-owls and a turkey vulture, a skunk, a frog and a snake. Later we went to the reptile building. Then some people went to the 50 ft. slide and others went to the Gift Shop. We left around three o’clock. Everybody including the chaperones and students had a good time.
