On Friday, May 9, thirty 7th and 8th grade students went to Parkland College. They were there to see the See It All 2008 Technology Workshop that the college sponsored. These students were chosen because thy showed special interest and skill in the fields of computers and technology. The day was pretty exciting in some student’s opinions. The students learned about internet safety and what type of comments students shouldn’t put on the internet.
They also learned what career possibilities they have if they attend Parkland. The last and most exciting one of all the workshops was the animation workshop where students got to work and try to make a robot. The software that the students were working with was very advanced and challenging but most students got it on the first try. In the end all the students went home with a better understanding of the technology that is in the world we live in today.
