Hills is the son of Steve and Marcia Hills, Cullom, Illinois. His FFA advisor is Mrs. Diana Loschen. When asked about the win, Hills said “winning this award was a great honor for me.” He went on to say that all his work and involvement over the past 4 years in FFA has certainly paid off! Hills add that “agriculture is very important to me” which makes winning the award all that more meaningful and he appreciates the help of all those who helped him to reach this goal. Advisor, Diana Loschen says, “ All of Tri-Point FFA, and I personally, am very, very proud of Brian as Illinois’ Star Farmer. The Tri-Point FFA Chapter has never had a State Star, and we couldn’t be happier! “
Over 3,000 people attended the convention, held at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield. Illinois FFA, with 17,085 members in 299 chapters, makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
