Mr. Schaidle's Classroom Guidelines

and Required Materials

by Justin Schaidle

August 18, 2008

WELCOME to Mr. Schaidle's classroom for the 2008-2009 school year.  With your help, I hope to make this a very successful year for you and your student.  Please take the time to review and share my guidelines with your student.  Again, WELCOME!

Classroom Guidelines

Classroom respect towards all individuals is crucial.  It will allow everyone to enjoy being in class, feel comfortable sharing their ideas, and have the freedom to try and, at times, fail.  You will receive a warning for your first instance of disrespectful behavior.  Your second will earn you a detention.  With your third, you will be removed from class for, at least, the remainder of the period.

School rules regarding absence and tardies will apply in this class.

You may expect that I will:

- Be prepared for class

- Be on time

- Answer questions

- Know the mathematics

- Listen to your comments and concerns

- Be courteous

- Be available for individual help outside of class (including before and after school)

In return, I expect you to:

- Be in your seat and ready to begin class when the bell rings (Work on warm-up)

- Come to class prepared (Required materials include your textbook, a notebook, pencil, and calculator.)

- Remain in your seats until I dismiss you. (Do NOT exit your seat without permission)

- Speak courteously to others

- Watch your language

- Speak only with permission

- Not interrupt while the teacher or a classmate is speaking

- Not eat or drink in the classroom (Absolutely No Candy!)

- Exit the classroom, during the period, only with a pass from the teacher

- Not engage in behaviors such as throwing objects or leaving garbage on the floor or behind the radiator

- Respect the space and property of others

- Do homework regularly!!! (LATE WORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED ONCE THE ASSIGNMENT HAS BEEN GRADED AND RETURNED!!!  Also, any late work for a chapter must be turned in before the chapter test.  In cases of absence, school policies will apply for make-up time.)

You will be given a warning the first time you fail to meet one of these expectations.  Each additional failure to meet an expectation will result in a detention.  Excessive failures to follow these guidelines will result in a referral to the principal and a phone-call to your parent or guardian.
