Steve Fink

February 03, 2010

The school district is establishing an athletic hall of fame to recognize athletes from Tri-Point High School and the high schools that were part of the school districts that now makeup the Tri-Point School District.

These seven high schools are the Cabery Cardinals, the Cullom Ramblers, the Ford Central Cougars, the Kempton Red Devils, the Kempton-Cabery Comanche, the Piper City Blue Streaks, and the Roberts-Thawville Leprechauns.  Candidates for the Tri-Point High School Hall of Fame may be nominated in one of the four following categories – ATHLETE: Any person who distinguished himself/herself in the field of athletics while in high school.  Criteria include All-State recognition, State Champion or Place at State Finals (Relay teams in track and field are included within this criteria and will be inducted as a group, not individually), or chosen as a member of a state recognized All-Star Team.  ALUMNUS/ALUMNA: Any person who distinguished himself/herself after graduation from high school.  Criteria include outstanding college athletic accomplishments, college athletic scholarship recipient, or college athletics participant.  Alumnus/alumna nominees must have graduated from high school at least ten years ago.  COACH: Any coach with at least five years of service at Tri-Point High School or one of the other seven high schools and at least ten years of coaching experience.  Criteria include accomplishments as a coach that merited statewide recognition as well as significant contributions to Tri-Point High School or one of the other seven high schools.  CONTRIBUTOR: Eligibility of outstanding contributors will be at the sole discretion of the selections committee.  Candidates must have made outstanding contributions or offered extraordinary services to the student/athletes and the athletic program at Tri-Point High School or one of the other seven high schools.
