Jr. High Band Activities

By Logan, 7th grade computer class student

March 05, 2010

The band program at Tri-Point is in full swing and we are getting ready for lots of
performances.

The fifth grade band has 15 members, and is working on 3 pieces for the concert.  We are also learning music terms in Italian, articulations, rhythms, and technique. There is a lot
to learn in the first year of playing an instrument but they are doing a great job!

Junior High Band is working on 4 pieces for the concert, as well as getting ready for Solo
and Ensemble contest and Organizational Contest. They are learning to play all their
major scales and are counting complex rhythms. We anticipate getting some scores
this year at contest, and are working hard to achieve that goal.

Our Spring Concert is Monday, May 3 at Tri-Point High School in Cullom. It will
feature the 5th grade band, the Junior High Band and the High School Band as well as the
Junior High and High School Choirs. It begins at 7 pm and is free and open to the public.

Upcoming concert dates:

Saturday March 27-Solo and Ensemble Contest
Saturday May 1-Organizational Contest
Monday, May 3-Combined Band and Choir Concert
