We know that learning can take place only when there is a partnership between the home and school. As we are all committed to _________________________ ‘s progress in school, we are going to do our best to promote his/her achievement. This agreement is a promise to work together as a team.
Student Agreement
I will work to the best of my ability. I will do the following as I know that they are important for me to learn:
- Attend school regularly and be on time
- Follow the Rules of Student Conduct to help both myself and my classmates learn
- Complete assignments daily and return assignments on time / Ask for help at school or home if I need it
- Read at least 30 min. independently at school and/or at home. (Read with someone at home until capable of.)

Parent / Guardian Agreement
I want my child to achieve therefore I will encourage him/her by doing the following:
(Any person who is willing to carry out these functions to help this child may sign in lieu of a parent.)
- See that my child attends school regularly and shows up on time
- Support the school in its efforts to maintain proper discipline
- Create a nurturing and supportive environment at home
- Establish a time for homework; review assignments daily; sign and return when necessary
- Provide a quiet, well-lighted place for study
- Encourage my child’s efforts and be available for questions
- Read to and with my child on a regular basis (even after can read on own - helps develop fluency)
- Encourage independent reading
- Attend at least one Parent-Teacher Conference each school year
- Communicate with the school for consistency from school to home; ask when uncertain of goals or progress
- Communicate with school any difficulties/ environmental issues/factors that may impact student learning
- Participate in school activities when possible
- Considervolunteering in your child’s classroom as time allows in your schedule—supporting your own child at home comes first Signature ___________________________________
Teacher Agreement
I became a teacher because I know the importance of helping students achieve. I will do the following to make this a reality:
- Provide a high-quality curriculum & instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment
- Research, learn, and implement activities to help students with many learning styles
- Monitor homework assignments / assignment sheets and notebooks
- Communicate with parents on an ongoing basis, NOT just Parent-Teacher conference time.
- Encourage students and parents by providing information about student progress
- Award incentives and rewards for academic achievement / good behavior
- Use special activities in the classroom to make learning more enjoyable / meaningful –allowing parental volunteers to help with these activities.
- Encourage independent reading at school / home
- Work hard to find a time for students to read one-on-one with the Title I teacher, teacher aide, or parent volunteer at recess, DEAR Time, or other time that will not pull student from classroom instruction
- Title I teacher will help parents learn how to help their students get more from their time reading together. Contact Mrs. Corban at any time for this instruction -- 253-6299 ext 117.

Principal Agreement
I support this partnership in learning concept. It takes all of us working together to get the results that we want. I will do the following to promote this partnership:
- Provide environment that allows for positive communication between the teacher, parent, and student
- Create an atmosphere that promotes a life long love of reading and learning
- Support appropriate in-services and training for teachers and parents
- Hold parent-teacher conferences two times each school year
