Student Incentive Program is Working at the Upper Elementary / Junior High

With the incentive money we received from our Kathryn Beich Candy sales we have started a Positive Behavior Intervention program that will reward a class at mid-term and at the end of a Quarter for having the least amount of discipline referrals. The mid-term winner for the 3rd quarter was Mrs. Zimmerman’s 5th grade class with “0” discipline referrals since the beginning of the second semester. The students got to choose a location in Gilman for them to eat lunch with the Principal and paid for out the incentive money we raised. The class chose to go to Burger King where they enjoyed an outing as well as lunch on the Principal. We left the school on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at around 12:00pm and returned by 1:15pm. While there, the manager put every students name into a hat and drew out 4 names of students who won anything from a free meal to a free sandwich ticket on Burger King. The students who won these extra prizes were- Austin Gudino, Ashton Roach, Kassidi Burton, and April Thompson. I would like to commend these students on their outstanding behavior over the past 5 weeks and hope that the other classes take note and win their turn at a free lunch with the Principal. The next tally of disciplinary referrals will take place at the end of 3rd quarter. Good luck.
