The Tri-Point Jr. High Baseball Team dropped 2 contests recently. On Thursday, August 26, Prairie Central came to Kempton and left with a 17-0 victory. Zach Sunday and Kyle Robinson saw mound action. The two pitchers were able to throw strikes, but the Hawk bats were too much as they pounded out 13 hits, including 4 home runs.
On Friday, August 27, Tri-Point traveled to Cissna Park and suffered another loss. The Raiders played a much more competitive game that day as they lost 9-6. Tim Crouch pitched and did a good job. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2. He also struck out 6. Only 4 of the 9 runs he allowed were earned.
Tri-Point was able to bang out 8 hits. Zach Sunday, Austin Wooton, and Jake Dulek had two each, with one of Dulek's being a double. Kyle Robinson and Tim Crouch had the other two hits. Runs batted in were by Wooton (2), Crouch, Sunday, and Zac Cox.
The Raiders resume playing at Paxton against PBL on Monday, August 30, then travel to Watseka on Tuesday and Thursday to partake in the Twin County tournament. The Raiders must win on Tuesday in order to play on Saturday at Onarga.
