  • Using bulk ordering for supplies cut down the supply budget by approximately $6,000.
  • The Livingston County School Facility Sales Tax – Tri-Point is projected to receive $76,653.  This amount is based on students living in Livingston County.  At registration students will have to inform the school what county they reside.  This money is based on a calendar year bases.  It goes into effect 1/1/2014.  This money can be used for:  Safety and Security Improvements, Pay Outstanding Building Bonds to Lower Property Taxes, New School Facilities, Additions and Renovations, Land Acquisition, Energy Efficiency, Architectural Planning/Engineering and Durable Equipment.  This tax is from retail sales only.  If it is not currently taxed, it will remain untaxed.  This money will be budgeted under Capital Improvement Budget Line to keep it separate from other building funds.

Public Comments:

Athletic Boosters –

Michelle Lancaster thanked the Board of Education for their help and trying to resolve the Pepsi contract.  Last year the booster held a Cash Bash which help support Volleyball and Basketball camps.  The volunteers for every event were greatly appreciated.  The booster ending balance is $14,700.  This will help sponsor Junior High Baseball, Junior High and High School Cheerleading for 2013-2014.  A Cash Bash will be held in September.

High School Band –

Mrs. Saunders informed the board of the great achievements the band has met. The HS Band received a Division One Rating and all musicians who participated in solo and ensemble all received 1st place for the 5th year in a row.
