NEWS RELEASE

BOARD OF EDUCATION

TRI-POINT COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT #6J

 

 

~The Board of Education of Tri-Point CUSD #6J held a Special Meeting on May 15, 2017 at 7 pm at the Tri-Point Board of Education Board Room in Kempton, IL.  Board Members: Ted Conkling, Kris Haag, Sharon Mogged, Cherie Smolkovich,Trish Haag, Jeff Read, Jason Angus were present.

 

 

Action by the Board included:

  • Move to approve the consent agenda as presented
  • Move to adopt the Prevailing Wage Resolution as presented
  • Move to approve the letter of engagement with Russell Leigh and Associates for the fiscal year 2017 audit at a cost not to exceed $5,300.
  • Move to adopt the fee structure for the 2017-18 school year as presented
  • Move to renew membership in Illinois Association of School Boards for the 2017-18 school year
  • Move to Seek Bids for Bread and Milk for the school food service program for the 2017-18 school year
  • Move to authorize the Superintendent to seek prices for transportation fuel.
  • Move to approve the amended 2016-2017 school district budget as presented
  • Move to approve the installation of Internet Fiber at Kempton and obligate Capital Funds for construction costs contingent on E-Rate Funding
  • Move to approve a Doctoral Research Project conducted by Will Patterson on the subject of “Implementing PBS at the High School Level”.
  • Move to go into closed session @ 8:22 for the A. appointment, employment, discipline, performance of specific employees; B. Special education program or matters relating to individual students; C. Student discipline in accordance with 5ILCS 120/2 (c ) and (1) and (2) of the Illinois Open Meeting Act.
  • Move to come out of closed session @ 8:45 pm.
  • Move to accept the retirement of Nadine Stites.
  • Move to accept the resignation of Chris Palmore
  • Move to accept the resignation of Kayla Highland as High School Cheer Sponsor.
  • Move to Employ Charlene Bokesch-Parsons as High School Art Teacher for the 2017-18 school year.
  • Move to employ Brad Fedderer as Part-time (4 hours per day) Spanish Teacher.
  • Move to Re-Assign Kristen Telford to a Special Education Aide position at Kempton Lower Elementary.
  • Move to adjourn the meeting @ 9:13PM
