School Emergency and Crisis Plans  Tri-Point Lower Elementary Staff participated in A.L.I.C.E. training March 12th. ALICE(Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) training classes are led by trained instructors who lead classes to provide preparation and planning for organizations on how to more proactively handle intruder threats.

Prior to A.L.I.C.E. training staff and students have participated in fire drills, bus safety presentations, and a tornado drill.  At the beginning of each year staff is reminded to begin discussing safety with students and conduct practice drills.  In Feb. a book appropriate for younger students was purchased for each classroom teacher to use.  The book entitled, I’m Not Scared, I’m Prepared  discusses many safety issues from fire drills to tornado drills to intruders using animal characters.  Tri-Point Lower Elementary has also formed a committee which met March 21st to begin reviewing current procedures, guidelines, and protocols.  Meetings are planned in April to revise/establish updated plans. Revisions/plans shall then be submitted to the District Emergency Management Team to be included in Tri-Point 6-J’s Emergency and Crisis Response Plan.
