Mike Kelly, the high school golf coach, will have camp on June 19-23rd from 8:30 am to 12 pm. Transportation will be provided to the golf course in Pontiac from Cullom (more information about transportation can be found on the registration form). It's a great day for a walk or run! Come out to the NHS 5k run and 2 mile walk at the Cullom Park Pavilion. Registration starts at 2 pm today and the race will begin at 3 pm. Cost is $25 and shirts will be available until we run out. All proceeds go for exercise stations and trees for the walk path.

The high school girls track team finished in 2nd place at the RVC track meet on Tuesday in Clifton. Top performers were Adriana Hummel with 1st in long jump and 4th in the 100m, Kasi Hughes took 1st in shot put, and Riley Patterson placed 2nd in shot put. Katelyn Poe finished 2nd in the 800m, 4th in the 1600m, and 3rd in the 400m. Lainey Bertrand was 3rd in the 100m hurdles, and Maddie McNeill was 4th in the 200m. The 4x200 relay (Hughes, McNeill, Rosmond Prisock, and Alli Schuette) placed 2nd.
The boys high school track team placed 4th at the River Valley Conference meet in Clifton on Tuesday. Top performers were Mihreteab Gilleland 1st in the 3200m and 2nd in 1600 m, Aiden Pelehowski was 1st in the 800m, and Spencer Moreno took 4th in the 400m and 800m. The 4x100 relay (Hunter Davies, Donovan Connor, Anthony Harrell, and Kaleb Metke) placed 2nd, and the 4x400 relay (Chase Hummel, Pelehowski, Gilleland, and Moreno) also took 2nd.
The boys will hit the track again on Tuesday 5/9/23 at Paxton for the PBL Boys Invite.
HIGH SCHOOL BOYS TRACK MEET ADDED: The high school boys track team will travel to Paxton for the PBL invite on Tuesday 5/9/23. The meet will start at 4:30 PM with field events, and running events will start at 5:30 pm.
Congratulations to the Tri-Point River Valley Conference Scholar Athlete nominees, Mihreteab Gilleland and Kyra Cathcart. Today they were recognized at the RVC scholar athlete luncheon at KCC with other conference scholar athletes for their success in the classroom as well as in sports.

Congratulations to Lainey Bertrand on a big track week! Lainey placed 1st in the 300m hurdles and 5th in the 100m hurdles at the Fresh/Soph Watseka Invitational. She followed up that performance with a 4th place finish and new school record in 300m hurdles at the Herscher Invitational. Other top performers at Herscher included Katelyn Poe with a 5th place finish in the 400m run and the 4x200 relay (Kasi Hughes, Alli Schuette, Maddie McNeill, Adriana Hummel) with a 6th place finish. The boys 4x400 relay (Anthony Harrell, Chase Hummel, Aiden Pelehowski, Spencer Monroe) took 7th Place . Good luck at the RVC conference meet today at Clifton!
The high school freshmen and sophomore team had a strong showing at the JV invitational meet in Watseka last week. Several boys set PRs in the following events: Anthony Harrall 400m, Khayman Essington discus, Aiden Pelehowski 1600m, and Armando Rodriguez 200m. The girls 4 x 200m relay (Kasi Hughes, Alli Schuette, Maddie McNeill, and Adriana Hummel) was 2nd, and Hummel took 6th place in long jump.

Congratulations to Katelyn Poe of the girls high school track team. She broke the 400 M school record at the Tony Thorsen Invitational this week with a time of 1:06.46. Other track stars for the Chargers were Adrianna Hummel with a 2nd place finish in long jump, and Rosmond Prisock with a 6th place finish in the 400 M. For the boys team, Nate Smith finished 2nd in the 1600 M.
The NHS 5k run and 2 mile walk early registration deadline is quickly approaching. In order to get a t-shirt, registration forms need to be in by Saturday April 22nd. Cost is $25 for the run or walk. Participants can register after this date until the 3 pm run/walk time on Sunday, May 7th. All proceeds go towards walk path exercise stations and trees.
