
7th and 8th grade earned two hard fought victories against St. Anne tonight. 7th grade won 25-8, 19-25, 25-10. Madelyn Yohnka led the team with 9 kills, Khloe Miller-Dyrby added 3 kills and two assists, and Addy Honeycutt and Myah Mettille combined for 12 aces. 8th grade won 25-19 and 27-25. Lexa Porth and Grace Richie combined for 3 kills and 9 aces.

7th grade lost their match to GSW 19-25, 10-25. Madelyn Yohnka had 1 assist, 1 block, and 1 kill. Khloe Miller-Dyrby added 2 kills, and Addi Honeycutt contributed 2 aces. 8th grade fell short 13-25, 10-25. Ashley Estrada and Lexa Porth combined for 5 kills.

7th Graders take "Cell-fies." They were amazed to take pictures of their own cheek cells up close using the microscopes and camera lenses. "That's me!" shouted Brooklynn. They were able to identify their cell membranes, nuclei, and observe other parts of their cells,. This week they'll get to observe cell respiration in yeast by making fresh pretzels!

Music students at the upper elementary/junior high building were treated to a presentation from Dan Schultz, a lighting designer who tours with a variety of music groups. Dan is originally from Gibson City and has been in the lighting field for 17 years. We were very interested in learning about what he does, who he's worked for, and other jobs that are available in the touring end of the music industry.





7th grade fell short against St. John’s 11-25, 23-25. Madelyn Yohnka had three kills and Khloe Miller-Dyrby added 3 aces. 8th grade lose an entertaining match 24-25, 21-25. Ashley Estrada had 8 aces and Lexa Porth added 2 kills and 8 digs.

The 7th Grade boys played in the Regional Championship last night against Cissna Park. After a hard fought battle that went into overtime The Chargers fell 41-40. Roberto Pozos was the leading scorer with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Rafael Campos had 12 points and 7 rebounds and Miguel Amador had 9 ponts.
They finished the year with a record of 14-8. Great season 7th grade team!

The Boys Basketball Regional Final will be played as scheduled tonight .

5/6 grade defeated PBL 25-13, 25-6. 7th grade loses 13-25, 25-13, 14-25. Khloe Miller-Dyrby led the way with 3 kills and Myah Mettille added 3 aces. 8th grade came up short 17-25, 13-25. Lexa Porth had 3 kills and Ashley Estrada, Madelyn Yohnka, and Khloe Miller-Dyrby contributed 3 aces each.

Congratulations to Owen Griner (7th) and Lance Hummel (8th) on their winning entries in the annual American History essay contest! This is an annual competition held every year through the Governor Thomas Ford chapter of DAR. They will be honored at the DAR Awards Ceremony on Sunday, May 7th.


Tonight’s volleyball match at Donovan is a 4:30 start beginning with a 5/6th grade match then 7th and 8th grade matches following.

5th & 6th grade won their opening match of the season over I.W. 24-26, 7-25. 7th grade came up short in a hard fought match 14-25, 25-19, 25-21. Madelyn Yohnka and Addi Honeycutt led the way with 4 aces each. 8th grade won 15-25, 18-25 with Ashley Estrada and Grace Richie combining for 13 aces.

Fifth graders started using their KidStix drum kits in music last week. We'll be working with the drum kits for the next several weeks.





Congrats to the 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams who swept Saunemin.
