Track Athletes & Parent: Junior High
WELCOME to the 2025 track and field season!!
Practice starts Monday March 3rd right after school.
There will be an activity bus after every practice that will bus your child to Cullom or Kempton. (This bus does not run a country route.)
Monday March 3rd is also our athletic pictures. Your child will be given their uniform the morning of and given an opportunity to change before their pictures. After they are done, they will return their uniform to me. The uniforms will be handed out closer to our first meet, Tuesday April 8th. (Doing this helps decrease the chances of the uniforms being misplaced.)
We will have a parent meeting on Thursday March 6th at 5:15pm in the Piper gym. Please plan to attend. Your athlete may stay after practice if you will be attending the meeting. If you will not make the meeting, please let us know and we will send the packet home with your athlete.
If your child still needs their sports physical, please schedule that for as soon as possible. We can not allow any child to participate until we have an up to date physical on file.
Please check to see if your child owes an athletic fee for the 2024/2025 school year. If you are unaware if you owe this, please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can provide that information to you.
Please feel free to contact either of us with any questions. We look forward to working with you and your child this season!

On Saturday the prairie cicada research crew presented their work at the Wild Things Conference at the Rosemont Convention Center. These 6 students in grades 4 to 12 did a wonderful job sharing their research with other interested scientists, naturalists, and citizen scientists. Pru Davies, Mitch Woods, Hunter Davies, Trace Rogers and Luke Tompkins presented, along with Phoebe Davies, who informed the audience about why "Two is not the magic number!" (its not the number of years that the cicadas spend underground before emerging. ) Finding out is a major part of their research. Once they know the answer of how long they take underground, they hope to publish their work and return to give a talk again!

Reminder :
Tomorrow, March 3rd is sport and club pictures day .
Students will need uniforms .
