Boys and Girls Club :
Is cancelled today, February 5th; for the possibility of inclement weather. Students will return home on their normal transportation routes.

JH Volleyball
-Tonight's game at Gardner has been cancelled due to weather. It will not be rescheduled.
-Tomorrow's game at St. Anne has been cancelled due to a rescheduled IESA Boys Basketball Regional. It will not be rescheduled.
-No practice Wednesday, 2/5. There will be practice Thursday and Friday in Piper.
-8th Grade Night will be on Friday, 2/14, vs Grace Christian. The 7th grade game starts at 4:30.
-The 6th grade scrimmage before the Iroquois West game on Monday, 2/24 has been cancelled. The 7th grade game will start at 5:30
-The volleyball game scheduled for Wednesday, 2/26 has been cancelled.

So excited for the last round of sixth graders, who have demonstrated their knowledge of where all 50 states are located!

Yesterday a form was sent home with students who attended boys and girls club.
To clear up confusion....
At this time there is NO charge for membership. Please fill out the paper that was sent home. This paperwork will be used to continue to apply for grants that provide resources to the Boys and Girls Club Organization.
The Boys and Girls Club will notify members if there is charges in the future.

Parent/ Teacher Conferences will be held on February 13th from 3:00 PM to 7:45 PM . They will run every 15 minutes. If the school requested a meeting, parents were sent an email or phone message today.

Congratulations to Tri-Point Junior High for having two students recognized in the annual American History essay contest.
Brooklynn McCauley (7th grade) and Zane Jarman (8th grade) were selected for their outstanding essays in the Ford County competition. Notably, this marks Zane's second consecutive year as a winner.
A DAR Awards Ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 4th in Gibson City to honor the students, their families, teachers, and administrators.

Some of the Upper Elementary/ Junior High students entered the 2024 – 2025 Junior American Citizens (JAC) Contests. This year’s poster theme was “Celebrate the 250th Birthday of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.”
These students won in their age group for the chapter and state level. Their posters have been sent on to the North-Central contest, competing with entries from seven other states. If they place first there, they will be sent to the national contest.

8th grade 1st place Brynner Dietz.

Jr. High E-Learning Day #1 (Tuesday, January 21, 2025)
6th Grade - 8th Grade
Students, please refer to the E-Learning envelopes you received last week. Teachers will be available via email for any questions or concerns. Below is a brief summary of the E-Learning assignments included in the envelopes.
ELA (Andrews): Write a 3 paragraph short story about being “snowed-in”. (1st assignment in packet) (This is posted in Google Classroom ONLY for students who did not receive the packet.)
ELA (Shiner): Read the first story in the packet and answer the questions. Answer the short answer question with good sentences.
Math (Mann): Complete one entire page of their choice (front & back) from those that are in their math packet. Save the other pages in case we have more additional e-learning days.
Math (McGinnis): Follow the instructions for Day 1 in your packet. This is review material that has already been taught.
Math (Nugent): Complete the Day 1 worksheet. This is review work.
Science (Saffer): Follow the directions on the information sheet in the packet for Day 1.
Social Studies (Galindo): All students are creating a storyboard. In each panel..Make Drawings and Write description sentences for each panel about what you have learned. 6th grade: Show the beginning, middle, and end of an event of Ancient Egypt or something in that time period.
7-8, Same as 6th OR show the causes and effects during your event: 7th-American Revolutionary War…8th-World War I. Directions are also posted in Google Classroom.
P.E. (Cahill): Complete the day 1 workout in the packet.
