Livingston County Agriculture in the Classroom hosted a K-12 Poster Contest to celebrate Stewardship Week. Some of our 5th, 6th, and 8th grade students submitted their posters.
The theme was Home is Where the Habitat Is. Over 200 entries were received from public, private and homeschool students.
Grades 4-6 division 1st place Zoey VanHook
Grades 7-9 division 1st place Kara Stuckey
The 1 st place winner from each of the grade divisions will have their entries forwarded to Springfield for judging at the state level. The winners will be announced at the Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation District’s Summer Conference in July.

Tri-Point Junior High 7th graders spent the day in Springfield bringing their classroom lessons to life!
From their government studies, they saw where our state legislators debate and make laws. They walked in Abraham Lincoln's footsteps and touched the same railing Abe used going up and down the stairs at his home of 12 years before becoming President. They also saw his gravesite and learned that Abe is buried 10 feet under cement and a granite headstone inside a monument to deter grave robbers.
A big thank you to our administrators and school board for supporting teaching and learning inside and outside the classroom!
