Tri-Point Upper Elementary/Jr. High

Piper preschool had a local gardener come in and help prepare and plant seeds for the classroom as a learning activity to go along with their gardening theme.

Attention: The JH track meet for today @ St Malachy IS taking place as of now.

It was the Junior High Scholastic Bowl Team's last home game tonight which resulted in a victory against Ridgeview! The final score was 295-160. Our team stands undefeated at 8-0. Owen Griner earned the team 90 Toss Up points, again! Brynner Dietz brought in 30 points. The team earned 175 points in the Bonus rounds. Next week, they will head off to the TCC on April 17 at PBL. Let's go team!!!

Upper Elementary/Junior High School: Congratulations to our Chargers of the Week and Positive Office Referral recipients!!

On the Friday before spring break the Upper Elementary and Junior High competed in the annual Math & Science Olympics. Junior High students had a great time participating in five STEAM events - Martian Egg Lander, Paper Airplanes, Blastcars!, Estimation Stations, and Math & Science Bowl, and the 4th & 5th grade raced their Blastcars and competed in Estimation Stations. The junior high students spent a couple of weeks earlier in the year making their Blastcars from blocks of basswood that they carefully designed, cut, drilled, and painted. The 4th & 5th made their cars from corrugated plastic and other parts. The cars were fast and they all made it down the track! The Junior High contest included a separate contest for best designs. The winners in that category are pictured, including the Batmobile, Perry the Platypus, and a racing Subway sandwich, complete with mayonnaise!

The Junior High Tri-Point Chargers' Scholastic Bowl team remain undefeated tonight following its 7th game of the season! The Chargers won 290-190 against St. Mary's Pontiac. Owen Griner answered 9 toss up questions correct for 90 points! Brynner Dietz brought in 2 more correct toss up answer for 20 points. And Calla "Max" Fuoss earned the team another 10 points for 1 correct toss up. After 20 bonus rounds, the team gained another 170 points!! Way to go Chargers!!! Keep up the great teamwork!!

JH Scholastic Bowl: A close victory tonight against GCMS!! 220-180. It was 185-175, our lead, with only two questions to go! Owen Griner buzzed in both times with correct answers, which bumped us up 20 points. We then earned another 15 points in the bonus rounds. Way to go Chargers!! Owen earned the team a total of 70 points. Kara Stuckey buzzed in twice for 20 points. In Bonus rounds the team added 130 points! Our record now stands at 6-0!

Parents/Guardians, This week the Upper Elementary/Junior High will be be sending home letters for Summer School. Letters will come by regular mail. Some things to remember about Summer School: -Not all parents will receive a letter. -Summer School is not mandatory , but strongly urged to meet the student's educational needs. -Forms need to be filled out and returned to the school office as soon as possible. -There is a place on the form to decline the summer school invitation. (Please send back as well) -Dates, Times and Location is included on the form. -If you do not receive a letter but are interested in your student attending, please contact the office. *If you have any questions, please call the office at 815-686-2247. Reminder Candy Bar Sales: Students will need to sell two boxes for a fun day :) If your student(s) are still on box one ...we go on Spring Break next week. The fundraiser is over on April 5th. Thanks!!

Junior High Honor Roll :

Kayla Morgan’s poster was featured in the 2024 “ONE WATER” calendar sponsored by Livingston County SWCD & Farm Bureau. Kayla’s entry won first last year for her grade category in the Earth Day and Natural Resources Stewardship Week poster contest.

The Junior High Scholastic Bowl team is currently undefeated with a 5-0 record after winning against PBL Tuesday night. Final score 235-215. Owen Griner buzzed in for 50 points total. Kara Stuckey had 20 points. Brynner Dietz had 20 points. The majority of points was a team effort in bonus rounds which added 145 additional points! The next home game is Thursday, March 21.
