Tri-Point Junior High 7th graders spent the day in Springfield bringing their classroom lessons to life! From their government studies, they saw where our state legislators debate and make laws. They walked in Abraham Lincoln's footsteps and touched the same railing Abe used going up and down the stairs at his home of 12 years before becoming President. They also saw his gravesite and learned that Abe is buried 10 feet under cement and a granite headstone inside a monument to deter grave robbers. A big thank you to our administrators and school board for supporting teaching and learning inside and outside the classroom!

The 8th grade class spent their day learning about history in Chicago and many of the lessons they remembered from class: Al Capone and prohibition, the 1919 Race Riots, Haymarket Riots, Chicago fire and Chicago Stockyard reform. Many saw the Bean for the first time and went up into a skyscraper 103 floors for the first time! Such a fun experience!
