Upcoming Event Updates
Thursday, October 9th
Thursday is an early dismissal. School will be dismissed for the day after the homecoming parade. The time of the dismissal may vary based on the end of the parade. We anticipate dismissal from Cullom to be between 1:40 and 2:10. We will notify parents with a district-wide call/text message once the parade is over, notifying them of the bus time.
*Students from Kempton and Piper City will be shuttled to Cullom to watch the Homecoming parade that starts at 12:30.
Kempton Students:
You may sign your student out prior to the parade in the lot on the south side of Main Street, next to the grocery store, or immediately after the parade in the same location. Lower Elementary parents, please call the office or send your child’s teacher a seesaw message in advance to notify them if you or someone else will be signing out your child from the parade. Please note that the adult signing students out must be present for students to leave. Students who are not signed out will be transported back to the high school and then ride a bus to their respective town (Kempton or Piper City)/rural routes.
UE/Jr. High School Students:
Please call the office if someone other than you will be picking up your child from the parade. Students from both Cullom and Piper City must be signed out at the high school. Please note that the adult signing students out must be present for students to leave. Students who are not signed out will be transported back to the high school and then ride a bus to their respective town (Kempton or Piper City)/rural routes.
High School Students:
Please call the office if someone other than you will be picking up your child from the parade or if your child will be going home with another student or parent. High school students can stay after school to tailgate and wait for the volleyball game. Students staying for tailgating will be expected to stay on campus from the time the parade is over until tailgating is finished. There will be an activity bus available to students at 4 pm.
The Kempton Office is closed on Thursday, starting at 11:30 a.m. If you need to contact someone from the school after that time, please call the High School office at 815-689-2110.
There will be no afternoon Pre-K in Kempton or Piper City on Thursday.
The activity bus and all after-school activities, including the Boys and Girls Club, will also be running on a one-hour early release schedule . The activity buses will depart from all three locations at 4:00, and students will be dropped off one hour earlier than the normal activity bus drop-off time at each location.
