8th graders learned all about HVAC today with Edelman, Inc. Always interesting and important to hear about careers and what the work involves, how much money it pays, and what is needed to get certified.

The Math and Science Olympics were a blast again this year! Just before spring break the Upper Elementary and Junior High had their annual competitions, featuring mousetrap race cars, estimation stations, penny pirate ships, math & science bowls, and stomp rockets. The kids had a great time with the challenges. The record penny boat, made from an 18"x12" piece of aluminum foil, held an amazing 550 pennies, and was made by two fourth graders - Harmony and Gabie! They got trophies and got to keep the pennies!

Monty was super strong in the first half, earning us 50 points! Brynner had 30 points. Sammy and Max both scored 10 points each. The team as a whole picked up 70 points! Back in December some of the 4th grade students participated in the K-5 Ag Day Postcard Art Contest which was sponsored by Livingston county SWCD Farm Bureau. The contest theme was "Awesome agriculture." Laurel Meister (4th grade) came in second in 4th and 5th grade division. Congratulations to Laurel, and great work for all who participated in the contest! Debby Ruff, the Agricultural Literacy Coordinator, visited the 4th grade art class to present the award and to tell the students about the next poster contest.

Charger Families In order to stay ahead of the predicted storms later this afternoon in regards to busing and student travel, we will be dismissing students at 2:30 this afternoon. This will allow routes to hopefully all be completed prior to 4:00. If your student is a car rider and you cannot pick them up until regular time, that is okay. Staff will be on hand. Also…. All after school practices have been cancelled There will NO Boys and Girls Club in Piper City Thank you.
