November 1st Fall Festival : On Friday, November 1, we will be holding our first quarter PBIS celebration. We will be offering different Halloween themed games and activities for the students in the afternoon after lunch. Because of this, we are encouraging our students to wear their Halloween costumes on Friday, November 1, instead of Thursday. Please do not send your child with their costumes on Thursday, October 31. For Friday, please encourage your students to wear their costumes to school. They will be allowed to wear their costume for the entire school day. While we encourage all students to dress up, there are some costumes that are not appropriate to be worn at school. The following are restrictions for costumes to be worn. -Costumes must be school appropriate and in line with school dress code -There can be no blood, gore, or fake weapons. -Students may not wear masks to school. -Students must be able to sit in their classroom chairs and desks. -A reminder if students are bringing treats to school, any treat with peanut products are not allowed. One more note, if students are taking alternate transportation routes or riding home with friends, students are required to have a note or a call must be placed to the school by 1:00. If you have any questions, please contact the junior high office at 815-686-2247. Thank you, Sam Schmale

Upper Elementary/Junior High: On Thursday, October 10, Tri-Point Upper Elementary & Junior High students will be travelling to Cullom for the Homecoming Parade. We will be boarding school buses at approximately 12:15 to go to the parade. The parade is scheduled to begin at 12:45. At the conclusion of the parade, we will be taking the students to Tri-Point High School for dismissal. Parents/guardians may pick up their student(s) at the parade. If you are interested in taking your child, please sign them out with their grade level/homeroom teacher. Students may leave with grandparents or other contacts listed in TeacherEase. They may NOT leave with other siblings or friends. If someone other than a parent will be picking your child up from the parade, please make sure to send a note with your child to school by Wednesday or send a Dojo message to your child’s grade level/homeroom teacher. ***Students MUST be signed out.*** All other students will be going to Tri-Point High School for afternoon dismissal. By doing this, students will be on a bus for a shorter time period. Since this is the first time we have dismissed from Cullom as a district after the parade, we are estimating the arrival times as follows: Cullom in Town: 1:40 pick up time from the high school Piper and Kempton in Town: 2:00 arrival at the schools for pick up (Estimated) Piper, Kempton, and Cullom Rural Route: Students should arrive home between 2:15 - 3:00 (Estimated) *Walkers who's parents are not at the event will be dismissed from the buildings at 2:10 I also want to remind all families that there will be no school on Friday, October 11, and Monday, October 14, 2024. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Upper Elementary/Junior High office at 815-686-2247 Thank you, Sam Schmale ================================== Sam Schmale Principal Tri-Point Upper Elementary/Junior High School phone: 815-686-2247 email: schmales@tripointschools.org ==================================

The 8th Grade had a fun-filled day exploring many careers opportunities. There were so many hands-on activities that we were not able to try them all out. Wesley got to try brain surgery, and Tyler decided he might want to be a brick layer. Kara and Ryland helped birth a "calf"! So awesome!
