Just a couple quick announcements.......
***Don't forget that there is NO SCHOOL on Monday the 4th in honor of Labor Day!
****Also, the after school Boys and Girls Club starts in Piper City on Tuesday,
September 5th! Students in grades K-8 may attend.
-Students must have a signed permission form in the office to attend
-Club runs from 3:30-6 PM
-The activity bus will depart Piper City at 5 PM as normal. Students
staying until 6PM must be picked up by a parent/guardian.
The Lower Elementary is looking for volunteers for Charger Community Readers! The first day will be Wednesday September 27 at 9:00 am and we will have reading on the last Wednesday of every month at 9:00 am. If you are interested in listening to our first grade students read, please call 815-253-6299 ext. 100 to sign up. Thank you for supporting our students!
The Lower Elementary School is selling fleece blankets! Just in time for football games, hayrack rides, Christmas presents or just being cozy at home!
Notice of Public Hearing Notice is hereby given by the Board of Education of Tri-Point Community Unit School District #6J, County of Livingston, Illinois, that the tentative budget for said district for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023, is on file and conveniently available for public inspection at Tri-Point Community Unit School District #6J Office at 101 East Main Street Kempton, IL 60946.
Notice is further given that a public hearing on said budget will be held on Wednesday, September, 20 2023, at 6:45 P.M. as a Special Meeting of the Tri-Point Community Unit School District #6J in the District Board Room, located at 101 East Main Street, Kempton, Illinois.
Parents/Guardians
All of the PM rural routes tomorrow (8/23) and Thursday(8/24) will be running 10-15 minutes later than normal. These include PC (Steve), Cabery North(Karen), Cabery Stelle (Jim), Cullom W (Shelly) and Cullom E (Bob). This will allow students and drivers that have been on the bus the opportunity to go into the building to get a quick drink and cool off. We will also have cold water available on each bus as well.
Please note that if you are planning to have your child become a car rider rather than a bus rider, please notify the school tomorrow morning as soon as possible as that may change our routes. Thank you.
Due to expected high temperatures, the Lady Chargers opening game of the 23-24 Volleyball 🏐 season scheduled to be played @IroquoisWest will be played at Tri-Point High School

Charger Families
With the expected high temperatures over the next few days, Tri-Point will be making the following adjustments. Also, please ensure that your student is equipped with a refillable water bottle if possible.
-Although schools are air conditioned, we will closely monitor to ensure all units are functioning correctly and make proper adjustments if necessary.
- The HS and JH athletics will follow IHSA recommendations for high heat
- After school outdoor athletic events will be cancelled/postponed (Cross country will practice in the morning)
- Recess and PE will be held indoors
-Extra time will be allotted throughout the day and prior to boarding buses to ensure students have time to fill water bottles (Bottled water will be on hand as well)
As always, we will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you informed if further changes are necessary.

Back to School Week has begun at Tr-Point!! We look forward to seeing all of our students on Thursday morning! Please note the following:
- Students, new and returning, MUST be registered to begin school on Thursday. If you have not registered your student, please contact the district office immediately
-Physicals are required for Pre-K, Kindergarten, 6th grade, and Freshmen students as well as any 5th-12th grader that plans on participating in a sport
-Thursday and Friday are 2:10 dismissals

There will be a mandatory parent-athlete meeting on Monday, August 14th at 5 pm at the high school. This is the only parent meeting of the year for athletics at the high school. All fall, winter, and spring parents and athletes should attend.
The National Honor Society group will have their last dunk tank night at the Cullom Fair tonight. Check out the lineup. Thanks to everyone who has supported their fundraiser at the fair!
The NHS kids will be working the dunk tank tonight at the Cullom Fair from 6 to 8 pm. Principal Cara Anderson will be in it at 6 pm and Superintendent Jay Bennett will be at 7:30.
Coming soon to Tri-Point!! Starting after Labor Day, the boys and girls club will begin programming after school at our Piper City campus! More details to follow next week!
The TP NHS is having a dunk tank at the Cullom Fair this week! They have some great people lined up over the next few days, including Mrs. Anderson and Mr. Bennett on Friday night. Check out the line up for tonight. A huge thank you to our Cullom Fire department for helping us kick off tonight's fair!
The Tri-Point NHS and Student Council are having their annual car wash at the Cullom Fair on Friday Aug 11th from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. The car wash will be at the Cullom Firehouse. All proceeds go to events that both groups provide to TP students and our communities.

Charger Community
Tri-Point has recently been the beneficiary of a large amount of gently used student desks, chairs, tables, and other furniture, free of charge, from a suburban school that is undergoing a large refurbish. These desks and chairs will represent a very needed upgrade to some very dated items in our rooms. With that, over 100 desks, chairs, and other items that we are replacing will be offered to you free of charge, first come, first served. Those items have began to be placed within the fence of the west building in Kempton and will be there through this weekend. Please contact the office if you have any questions. Thank you.

This is a reminder to make sure to register your students for the upcoming 2023-24 school year! Students MUST be registered to start school. Registration information and documents can found by clicking the red, registration info button on the front page of our school website, www.tripointschools.org. Returning students can be registered through your Teacherease parent portal. PK, K, and new students, please visit the district office to register in person. Thank you.
Tri-Point Families
Our fall Pre-K screening is scheduled for August 4th in Kempton! Please call the central office at 815-253-6299 to register your student. This is a requirement for all 3-4 year olds who have not been screened to be able to attend Pre-K. Please share where necessary. Thank you.
The TPHS gym is closed for the next seven days for the annual shine-n-refresh. Please check with the custodial staff before entering the gym. Building access is also limited.
